SteamboatToday.com — After a heartbreaking loss Saturday, the Steamboat Springs High School girls soccer team got back to winning when it traveled Tuesday to play at Glenwood Springs.

The Sailors racked up a first-half lead to beat the Demons, 3-1.

 

Steamboat got two goals in the game from freshman Delaney Moon, then one from senior Mackenzie Gansmann. Natalie Bohlmann, Jordy Floyd and Brooke Buchanan all had assists, while goalie Ocoee Wilson tallied 11 saves.

The Sailors were up 2-0 at half, then added the third goal before Glenwood scored in the final 15 minutes of the game.

The team, 8-1 overall and 7-0 in the Western Slope Conference, now has the rest of the week off. It next plays Tuesday at home again against Glenwood Springs.

Varisty won 3-1 and JV won 2-1
