The 2017 offseason for the Steamboat Men’s Soccer team has been full of training and travel. First stop for 25 of the Sailors were the beaches and pitches of San Diego, California. The players played in matches against local California squads and found time to catch a few waves.
As the fall approaches, the Sailors are ready to kick off their 2017 campaign, but first, the Sailors are headed to Denver for what has become a tradition. Friday the players and coaches will head down the mountain for training and preparation for scrimmages at Colorado Academy.
On Saturday morning, the team will face Salida and Colorado Academy in scrimmages as they prepare for their opening game at home on Saturday, August 26th against the Mullen Mustangs. After the scrimmages are complete on Saturday, the team will head to Dick Sporting Goods Park to watch some top level soccer with the MLS’s Colorado Rapids taking on DC United.
