Steamboat Soccer traveled down to Palisade Friday for a league match up against the Palisade Bulldogs. The two day, two match trip will be the Sailors’ longest league trip of the season, as they head to Delta Saturday morning.
Friday Night, against Palisade, the Sailors came out strong in the first half, with the first 15 minutes being dynamic and eventful. After going up quickly in the game, the Sailors settled in to play some more dynamic soccer. By half time the Sailors had scored 5 unanswered goals. Coach Rob Bohlmann used the opportunity, in the second half, to get minutes for some up and coming players in the Sailor program. Overall, 25 players saw playing time on Friday night including 3 goalkeepers for Steamboat. A late goal by Palisade kept the Sailors from getting their first Shutout of the Season.
The Scoreline would finish at 6 to 1 with goals by Ross Van Hara(2), Ross Stuart, Tristin Arnis, Cruz Archuleta(PK) and an own goal by Palisade off of a Jake Sayler corner kick.
