Wednesday’s game will take place at Lakewood Memorial Field at 6:00 pm, under the lights.

  • This year marks the 2nd straight year the Sailors have reached the playoffs with the 29th seed.
  • Lakewood Memorial is the home of the Sailors(19) last playoff win, 1-0 against D’Evelyn(14) in 2011.
  • In 2009, Steamboat and D’Evelyn played a regular season game in Steamboat during a big snow storm. Steamboat scored the only goal of the game, unfortunately it was an own goal, and the Sailors lost that game 0-1.
  • D’Evelyn returns to the playoffs for the first time since 2011(when they lost in the first round to Steamboat) and had a big turn around this year from a 7-9 record in 2013 and 4-9-2 record in 2012.
  • If both the Sailors and Battle Mountain (playing Ft. Lupton) win on Wednesday, the league rivals will face each other in the second round of playoffs.
  • The Western Slope League was given 1 automatic playoff spot (Summit @ 10), and awarded 2 at large bids to the playoffs (Battle Mountain @ 20 and Steamboat @29). Sailors boys soccer makes 4A state playoffs as No. 29 seed
