With 8 returning seniors, the 2015 Steamboat Sailors are looking forward to a strong season in the Colorado 4A Western Slope League.  Coach Rob Boholman Returns as the Sailors Skipper for his 27th season at the helm. Helping him out are 3rd Year JV Coach Derek Guimond, 3rd year Goal Keeper and Assistant Varsity Coach Casey Barnett, and 2nd year JV Assistant Coach Torre Saterstrom.

The Sailors spent the past week in 2-a-day workouts, with early morning workouts with the ever popular Pio Utu at the sand courts and running up Howelsen Hill, and evenings under the lights at the high school working on technical and tactical train.

This past weekend, both the Steamboat Varsity and Junior Varsity teams traveled down to Denver for Scrimmages at Colorado Academy. The Sailors used the two 60 minute games to help test themselves against opponents for the first time this season with promising results. Highlights included a strong defense and dynamic midfield play.

Steamboat will head to Moffat County on Wednesday night for one last set of Scrimmages and a BBQ with Moffat County before beginning their 2015 campaign in Glenwood Springs, taking on the Demons in the first of their 15 game season.
