The Steamboat Springs High School soccer team went on the road Tuesday night to pick up a big league win, beating Summit, 1-0.

A goal midway through the first half from Ross Stuart, assisted by Jack Salyer, gave Steamboat the advantage it needed for the win.

It was the second win this season for the Sailors against the Tigers. Steamboat won 2-1 last month at home.

The win bumps Steamboat to 9-1 on the season and 7-1 in the league, leaving the squad at the top of the Western Slope League, in a tie with Battle Mountain. Both teams have one league loss, though the Sailors’ came against Battle Mountain. Steamboat will have a chance to avenge that setback in its last regular season game.

Next up for the team, which has won seven consecutive games since that Battle Mountain game, is a game at 11 a.m. Saturday against Glenwood Springs.
