Steamboat beats Delta to take early control in league play

The Sailors had a strong showing in Delta Saturday with a 3-1 win over league opponent Delta High School.  Hector Lopez was able to notch his first goal of the season off of a great run and assist from Brody King. Nathan DePuy added two more goals in the game to bring his season total to 4 goals in three games. Delta scored a late goal to close out the scoring on the day and help the Sailors secure the top spot in the Western Slope Conference.

JV also scored a big win in their game, winning 2-1.

The Sailors will take on the Summit High School Tigers on Tuesday Night in Steamboat for their home opener. JV plays at 4pm with Varsity at 6pm. The Sailors currently sit in 1st place in the league and the only team in the Western Slope conference to still be undefeated.
