Inaugural SSHS Soccer Alumni Games

I would like to enthusiastically invite all former players, from both the men’s and the women’s SSHS Soccer program to the Inaugural SSHS Soccer Alumni Games against the incoming teams of the 2023-24 school year! This event will be held on Saturday, August 5th, 2023.

Here are the details –

  • Round Robin Games will begin at 8:00am at the HS Stadium Field and will run until early/middle afternoon depending on the number of participants.
  • At the conclusion of the games, you will be treated to a BBQ on the High School’s front lawn by 2006 SSHS Soccer Alum Max Hamill w/Steamboat Meat and Seafood Co.
  • We will then conclude the day with a Happy Hour in downtown Steamboat for Alumni 21+.
  • An event shirt will be handed out to each player.
  • The cost for the event will be $40 per player.
    The fee includes BBQ and a shirt. This fee will be collected on the day of the event (cash or check).     Any remaining proceeds will go directly to the Men’s and Women’s soccer programs to help with valuable programs and equipment to further enhance our student-athletes and teams.
  • Deadline to register is Thursday, July 27th.

I am super excited for this event. It will provide the opportunity for all generations to gather out on the field, spend time catching up, and provide firsthand to current student-athletes the opportunity to hear from you on why the SSHS program is what it is today, and what can be achieved.

Additionally, this Alumni event will be a launching pad for The Steamboat Sailor Soccer Alumni Tribe. For those that would like to stay connected, this group could do some amazing things for Steamboat and beyond, and for generations to come.

The beginning of this Alumni Tribe will start very simple. We will walk before we run. A few basic concepts could be, and are not limited to –

  • Sharing insights and thoughts based on your life’s journey and experiences.
    • The value of forging relationships and the benefits of the student-athlete experience for current players.
    • What it takes to become the best that you can be.
    • How teams can come together to maximize their playing performance and abilities.
    • Why building strong character skillsets such as resilience, trustworthiness, and empathy, are so important in the field and in life.
  • Provide mentorship + networking for college athletic recruitment, the college search process, employment connections, and business opportunities.
  • Philanthropy projects, mentorship, or the simple gesture of talking with someone could use a friend.
  • And much, much, more!
