In the end, a 12-3-0 Season and a 3rd place in the Western Slope League was enough for the Sailors to get a home playoff game Wednesday night against the D’Evelyn Jaguars. It will be a fitting rematch for the two teams. D’Evelyn and Steamboat met in round 1 of the playoffs last year, where the #4 Jaguars Knocked off the #29 Sailors 4-1. D’Evelyn would go on to the Semi Finals last your eventually losing to the State Champion Air Academy.
The Sailors achieved their goal of a home playoff game despite needed 1 of only 7 At Large bids available in the playoff, with the 3 automatic league spots going the Battle Mountain, Eagle Valley, and Montrose.
Elsewhere in the Southwestern/Western Slope Leagues, #3 Battle Mountain will host #30 Mitchell, #13 Eagle Valley will host #20 Palmer Ridge, and #11 Standley Lake will host #22 Montrose, the other automatic bid from league play.
